Roadmap

Step 1 – Play through the game, collect everything and help everybody

  • Mastering the Combat System is the key to get through Unto The End
  • No Chapter Select
  • A lot of “Point of no returns”
  • No Ingame Map
  • No classic UI
  • You can only heal and upgrade yourself at a campfire
  • One run is done in around 1-2 hours, depending on how good you can fighting

Unto The End is a short but difficult to master sidescroller with a lot of fighting. Make sure you learn the combat system. Button Mashing will not work, you have to block and duck perfectly to get a chance against the enemies. You can train yourself at every campfire, choosing “Sparring Practice”, completing this training will unlock Well trained. There is a “Combat Assist” mode that slows enemy attacks, giving you more time to read and react during fights. “Combat Assist” can be activated in the “Settings” menu. You can only heal your character at a campfire, make sure you do this every time. Upgrading your armor is also important. Sometimes it’s better you get yourself killed and try again, instead of winning the fight. but losing your armor and health. You want to get through as much as possible fights without getting hurt.

Most of the trophies are missable so pay attention to the collectibles and trophies if you want to avoid a second run. Luckily one playthrough is done in around 1-2 hours, depending on how good you can fight against the enemies. Upgrade your armor twice as soon as possible, resources are rare and you want to get Craftsman. Make sure you collect all 9 items for Explorer and also help everybody for  Honourable. Don’t forget to show the “Woad Kipu” to the two enemies protecting an elevator in a cave for Show and tell instead of killing them. Also, don’t forget to kill the last enemy using only your sword for Mastery.

Hand Drawn Map of the Whole Game

Because there is no Ingame Map in Unto The End it is hard to describe where certain objects can be found or where you have to do some things. That’s why I provide you with a fully Hand-Drawn Map of the whole Game.

Note: The Scale is not exactly accurate and 100% correct. Use the map as a reference where you are about. The link will open a Google Drive Cloud Link. The dimensions of the map are 25,000 x 5,000 Pixels and it’s around 10 MB strong.

Unto The End
Well trained
Completed training
► During your playthrough, you will come across multiple campfires, sometimes you need to light them up with your torch by pressing . Sitting down on a campfire by pressing will give you the opportunity to brew tonic, improve your armor, heal your wounds, and “Sparring Practice”. Choose the last one and you will switch the scene and be able to practice the basic combat. After following the tutorial the game will tell you that you can return to the fire or you can stay and continue. Attack your training enemy and continue the fight until you defeated her. The Woman will leave the combat area and the trophy will unlock.
Calm under pressure
Retrieved sword in the heat of battle
► When you get attacked and hitted by an enemy there is a chance that you drop your sword. Go to your sword and press to pick it up and unlock the trophy. You can pick it up really quick by jumping over it and pick it up at the same time. Or you can hit the enemy by throwing your dagger by pressing or you tackle him with .
Craftsman
Made the best armor
Missable
► During your playthrough, you will come across multiple campfires. You need to light them up with your torch by pressing . Sitting down on a campfire by pressing will give you the opportunity to Brew Tonic, Improve Your Armor, Heal Your Wounds, and Sparring Practice. Choose “Improve Armor” and when you have everything needed, press to do so.

There are 2 Upgrades available:

  • Bone Bracers: 3 Bones, 3 Sticks, 2 Leather
  • Bone Armor: 5 Bones, 5 Sticks, 3 Leather

You can find resources everywhere in the game. They are not highlighted so you have to look closely to see them. You can loot enemies as well. Press to loot and collect stuff from the ground.

Note: Your armor can break and you can lose it. If your armor is damaged you can repair it at a campfire. Make sure you win in most of the fights with no damage, so you don’t waste resources for the repairing. Get yourself killed and try again is also an option.

After you crafted the second upgrade the trophy will unlock.

Helping hand
Helped a creature in need
Unmissable
► After falling down in the cave you can only continue to the left side, the right side is blocked by a door with a triangle in it. You will come to a blocked path, use to tackle your way through. Also, you will come to a high ledge you can’t reach with a normal jump. Jump with to the wall and press instantly again to jump off the wall and reach the ledge. After that, you will come to a small cave with a creature lying on the ground on the far left side. Go to the wounded creature, press to open your inventory, choose a herb, and offer it to the creature. You will receive the “Old Key” (triangle shape) and the trophy.
Trollbane
Defeated both trolls
Unmissable
► The trolls or yetis are big, white boss enemies you have to defeat to progress the story. You will find the first troll inside a cave (right side from a long elevator). He is protecting the “Heavy Key” (rectangle shape) which you need to open the door at to bottom of the elevator on the left side. After opening the door you will leave the cave. After a long walk to the left side, you will come across the second troll. After defeating this enemy the trophy will unlock. See the Video Guide below for the full fights against the bosses.
Show and tell
Used an item to avoid combat
Missable
► After the second Troll / Yeti (the one with the dear as a weapon) you will go down in a cave again. Find your way through the cave. After leaving the cave you will walk left and face two enemies. One coming from the right side and one jumping from a cliff from the left side. The one on the left side will attack you with spears, duck and the enemy on the right will get hit. Beet the other enemy (loot the Notched Bone from one of the enemies) and then follow the path. After a short walk, you will meet two creatures, one wounded lying on the ground and another covering him. Walk slowly to them and as you get near press and offer them one Herb. As a reward, you will get the “Woad Kipu” – this is the item you need for this trophy. Follow again the path and you will drive again with an elevator down in a cave. You need to go to the right and using one more elevator. After this, you will come to a bright lighted room with two enemies (one looking like a slave). Walk slowly to them, open the inventory and show them the “Woad Kipu”. They will let you pass to the elevator without fighting them and the trophy will unlock. See the Video Guide below for more information.
Honourable
Helped all creatures in need
Missable
► There are 4 creatures you can help but only the first two will count. If you don’t get the trophy after the first two, do the other ones as well.

  • Right at the start of the game after falling down in the cave, head to the left and you will come to a room with a campfire and the first creature in it. Offer him Herb to get the Old Key and also unlocking Helping hand. (Unmissable)
  • After the second Troll / Yeti (the one with the dear as a weapon) you will go down in a cave again. As a reward, you will get the “Woad Kipu”
  • After the Woad Kipu creatures, you will come to an area where you can see a fight between two creatures. Go fast and get involved in this fight, defeat the enemy and go to the left and you will see again two creatures lying on the ground. Offer them again one Herb.
  • The last creature which needs your help is at the end of the game. After a long walk through a cave (with falling stones from the ceiling) you will leave the cave and stand on a cliff. When you jump down this cliff you will see 4 creatures on the right side. One big creature is sitting wounded on the ground, two smaller ones are running away and one creature is very close to killing the big one with a spear. Attack the one with the spear before he can kill the big guy. The big guy will standoff and leave the area to the right side. After defeating the endboss using only your sword to unlock  Mastery you can visit the small family on the right side in her cave with a campfire in it.

The Trophy will unlock after you helped the last creature. Your progress will carry over to your next Playthrough.

Master trader
Obtained the light stone
Missable
► This trophy is doable in the earlier stage of the game. After getting the Old Key from the wounded creature and opening the door using it, you will cross a bridge with a trap. After this bridge, you will come to a cliff which you need to jump down. Now you will stand on a platform where you can go left and right and also climbing down a ladder. On the right side, you will only find loot. On the left side you will find another trap, after this a campfire and an enemy, and hidden in this room in the far left side the “Meditation Bed”. Pick that up (you need it for Explorer) and now climb down the ladder and use the elevator. After using the elevator don’t go to the right side! Go to the left and you will come to a big open room with two enemies in it. Go slowly in the middle of the room, press and offer them one Herb. As a reward, you will get the Light Stone and the Trophy will unlock. See the Video Guide below for more information.
Bloodlust
Defeated all key opponents
Grind
Attention: The Trophy Description is wrong.

To unlock this trophy you have to kill 100 enemies. It’s possible that you will unlock it during your first playthrough (if you die enough). If not, you can farm this at any encounter with more than one enemy kill one, get killed and repeat that. I recommend to play first through the game and farm this if needed in a second run. You will cross two enemies not to far from the beginning. Your progress from your first playthrough will carry over if you don’t use “Start Again” in the menu. Instead just start playing again after watching the credits.

Explorer
Obtained all items
Missable Collectible
► There are 9 items you can find and collect in the game:

  • Old Key – Unmissable – you need it to progress in the story
  • Meditation Bed – After getting the Old Key from the wounded creature and opening the door using it, you will cross a bridge with a trap. After this bridge, you will come to a cliff which you need to jump down. Now you will stand on a platform where you can go left and right and also climbing down a ladder. On the right side, you will only find loot. On the left side you will find another trap, after this a campfire and an enemy, and hidden in this room in the far left side the Meditation Bed.
  • Light Stone – After finding the Meditation Bed climb down the ladder and use the elevator on the left side. After using the elevator don’t go to the right side! Go to the left and you will come to a big open room with two enemies in it. Go slowly in the middle of the room, press and offer them one Herb. As a reward, you will get the Light Stone
  • Heavy Key – Unmissable – you need it to progress in the story
  • Iron Helm – possibly not needed for the trophy, but will give you extra armor. After you leave the cave for the first time, you will walk a long path to the left side. You will come to a cliff you have to jump down multiple times. After this, you can go to the right side inside a small cave with an enemy and a campfire in it. Follow the path to the left and you will come again to a cliff you have to jump down. Again you can go to the right side inside a cave. Inside this cave, there is a hidden ladder you can use by pressing . Climb down and you will find a campfire and next to the campfire a dead creature where you can loot the Iron Helm
  • Notched Bone – After the second Troll / Yeti (the one with the dear as a weapon) you will go down in a cave again. Find your way through the cave. After leaving the cave you will walk left and face two enemies. One coming from the right side and one jumping from a cliff from the left side. The one on the left side will attack you with spears, duck and the enemy on the right will get hit. Beet the other enemy and loot them to get the Notched Bone
  • Woad Kipu – Shortly after the Notched Bone, you will meet two creatures, one wounded lying on the ground and another covering him. Walk slowly to them and as you get near press and offer them one Herb. As a reward, you will get the Woad Kipu. (Show the Woad Kipu the enemies protect the elevator shortly after this to get Show and tell.
  • Pristine Shard & Wanderer Totem – After you showed the Woad Kipu to the enemies and used the elevator you will come to another closed door where you need to use a key to open it. After this, you will come to an area with a lot of ladders and paths. You will climb a ladder up, at the top of the ladder you will see two enemies, leaving the area when you get closed. Follow the creature to the right through the hole in the wall, then climb down the ladder, go right, and climb the next ladder up (dust will fall from the ceiling). In this room, you will find the creature. Offer him one bone and he will give you the Pristine Shard. Now go to the ladder you first seen them, go left, and use the first ladder you can climb up. Don’t go down or you will miss it. Climbing up will get you to the second creature, offer him Herbs and he will give you the Wanderer Totem (show this item the big worm to pass the area) and the trophy will unlock. See the Video Guide below for more information.
Mastery
Defeated the captain
Missable
Attention: The Trophy Description is wrong.

To unlock this trophy you need to kill the last enemy in the game using only your sword. This guy is the endboss of the game and the enemy you need to kill using only your sword. Don’t use your dagger or a spear. A fully upgraded armor is a good help. There is a “Combat Assist” mode that slows enemy attacks, giving you more time to read and react during fights. “Combat Assist” can be activated in the “Settings” menu. Try to block the attacks every time, don’t get tricked by his faking, and attack only when it’s safe. The Trophy will unlock after you killed him only with your sword. See the Video Guide below for more information.

  1. I didn’t see the sword chain mentioned(no trophy or inventory slot but damn useful to never drop your sword again), and I’m stuck at a part after the final boss fight.

I went into the cave to the right with the guy I saved, who vouched for me. I joined their fire, and that was the first time I tried to show the braid at a fire. When I exited the vision of family, the big guys were gone.

Went to the left and at the end of a long cave there is a wall with two rays of light shining through, and a sound that only comes around when I snuff the torch. I’ve gone back and forth several times now and I’m starting to worry I somehow glitched the ending.

    • Hey! I know the answer comes a bit late but, all you have to do is break the Wall the rays are coming from with your sword and thats it! 🙂
