Sword of the Sea – Trophy Guide

You can find the gold chests throughout the game and they give you Money (Astra). There are more than 10 chests throughout the game, and they respawn in NG+ or level replays in Chapter Select, so you don’t have to get all of them. Theoretically one is enough which you collect 10 times. You should aim to collect any you see though to collect Astra to trade for all vendor unlocks. For example you can find one in the Chapter 1 when you enter the first area where the title screen appears. In this area you can find one chest on the right side on a cliff and on the right side at the end of the area on a cliff.

You can find the fish tiles throughout the game and they give you Money (Astra). There are much more than 10 chests throughout the game, and they respawn in NG+ or level replays in Chapter Select, so you don’t have to get all of them. For example you can find a lot of them on top buildings in any chapter.

You have to jump a huge distance without touch the ground. You can do this for example in Chapter 4, by boosting and then jumping down the mountain.

You can easily do this by jumping up and down on jellyfishs without touching the ground. Perform tricks midair to gain points and higher your combo. You also have to jump on different jellyfish to gain combo.

Chapter 1 – After restoring water to the left side of the main area (the tower) a cutscene will play and some orcas will appear (Story). Jump on the back of one of them to unlock the trophy. Trophy will appear when jumping down the back.

Chapter 2 – After restoring water at the big dolphin statue a cutscene will play and some turtles will appear (Story). Jump on the back of one of them to unlock the trophy. Trophy will appear when jumping down the back.

Chapter 4 – After restoring water at the top of the big soldie statue with a cutscene will play and some humpback whales will appear (Story). Jump on the back of one of them to unlock the trophy. Trophy will appear when jumping down the back.

Chapter 6 – After restoring water inside the big circular room a cutscene will play and some sperm whales will appear (Story). Jump on the back of one of them to unlock the trophy. Trophy will appear when jumping down the back.

Chapter 6 – After restoring water on top of the giant ship a cutscene will play and some whale sharks will appear (Story). Jump on the back of one of them to unlock the trophy. Trophy will appear when jumping down the back.

Chapter 6 – After restoring water on top of the tower a cutscene will play and some sperm whales will appear (Story). Jump on the back of one of them to unlock the trophy. Trophy will appear when jumping down the back.

Chapter 4 – At the area where you first get introduced to the boost pillars, ride up the mountain with the bell on top. Instead of activating the bell turn around and ride the mountain down on the left side and make it with a jump to a cave. Activate the water inside this cave and a cutscene will play and some Elasmosaur will appear. Jump on the back of one of them to unlock the trophy. Trophy will appear when jumping down the back.

Chapter 6 – Water rails are available only in this chapter or after getting all Secret Shells as an ability. Jump on any jellyfish, to a triple jump to do the water rail, then jump again to stop the water rail and land on a jellyfish, repeat this to unlock the trophy.

Chapter 1: Veiled Sea – On the right area, if you stand in front of the big building, turn around and head to the left to the cliff. You will see a broken bridge over the cliff. Jump down until you reach the frog. 

Chapter 2: Lost Grotto – After returning water to the big dolphin statue. Jump down behind the statue onto a thin bridge. Follow the path to find the Frog.

Chapter 4: Shadow Tundra – After ringing all bells to open the gate to the big castle. If you look to the castle. Turn around and go to the right side of the area. There you can find the frog on one of the pillars. 

Chapter 6: Sacred River – After returning the water to the big ship. Jump onto the pillar with the chain and. On the right side of the chain you can find a boat at the cliff with the frog.

Chapter 7: Boiling Cavern – Near the end of the Chapter you will come to a big, golden closed door, which you have to open with a water point. If you stand in front of this gate, turn right and jump onto the boat, then jump right on the cliff and to the next boar where you can find the frog.

This is earned when you trade all 5 rewards at the vendor. You can find multiple vendors during the game. The first is unmissable in Chapter 1. You can buy this at any vendor you want. This required 8550 Astra in total. You get Astra by opening chests, finding fish tiles, inside vases and it’s also flying around in the world, escpecially after restoring water to an area, or after beating highscores at trick areas. Everything carries over to NG+ or Chapter-Select. You can use Chapter-Select and replay Chapter 1 for exmaple, you can get around 1200-1500 there, making it one of the profitables chapters. These are the 5 rewards you need to buy:

• 50 Astra – Tricks
• 500 Astra – Spin Tricks
• 1000 Astra – Drop
• 2000 Astra – Super Jump
• 5000 Astra – Secret Shell

You need to buy the spin tricks at a vendor for 500 astra. You can perform them by holding L1 and then pressing Square/Triangle/Cross/Circle, then pressing another time one of these button to change the direction. Perform all 4 tricks (Square/Triangle/Cross/Circle) to all the 4 directions (Square/Triangle/Cross/Circle), so 16 tricks in total to unlock the trophy.

Chapter 8 – This is the hardest and most annoying trophy in the game. You have to beat the only enemy in the game without getting hit once. If he hits you you have to restart the whole chapter and also unfortunately the unskippable cutscene.

The boss has 3 phases. During the first one you can only take damage by the falling rocks at the end of the phase. The second phase i inside the half pipe, he will shoot with a fire beam at you, you have to use the half pipe to jump up and then fly to the opposite site to dodge the attack. The second attack is a wave of fire which you have to jump over. The third attack is some meteors coming down on you, just dodge them. During all this collect the water and shoot as often as possible at him

Phase 3 is inside a giant water tube. The first attack here is a laser he shoots at you, just drive to the left or right all the time to avoid it. Attack number 2 is again some fire waves/areas, just drive around them. At the end he will shoot a fire ball at you whcih you have to strike back at him at the correct timing.

This trophy is awarded for completing the game and watching the unskipable credits.

This is quite manageable if you focus on the water points and maybe pick up some money/Astra along the way. It’s recommended to do this on your second run and combine it with 🏆 Great Score. Even with a few mistakes, I finished in under 90 minutes while also farming points for the 1 million trophy/achievement. So there’s plenty of room for error, no need to stress. Cutscenes are unskippable and count toward the time, but pausing will stop the timer.

After beating the game once you unlock New Game Plus. So play through the game a second time with this mode and you will unlock this trophy. It’s recommend to do 🏆 Speed Surfer and 🏆 Great Score during this.
